Sirius
Sirius was built in 1964 by John Trumpy and Sons in Annapolis, Maryland. Trumpy Yachts were the pinnacle of seafaring luxury of its day and the company was responsible for designing and building the presidential yacht Sequoia. Sirius is longitudinally double planked mahogany on white oak frames with a plywood deck sheathed in fiberglass.
When her home port was in Florida she was subjected to electrolysis damage to hull and framing around the struts and through hulls. Her transom log was deteriorated and leaking. Damaged hull and framing was repaired, a new transom log and transom planking installed and struts aligned and installed. Her starboard rail showed signs of rot and was removed to discover rot damage into her sheer clamp, planking and decking. Decking, planking, and sheer clamp repairs were made before laminating, shaping and installing a new white oak rail.
