Tall Ship Manitou

The Tall Ship Manitou, owned and operated by the Traverse Tall Ship Company, is a replica of an 1800’s coasting cargo schooner that operates out of Traverse City. Her skilled crew take her out multiple times a day during the summer months enhancing the view of the bay with her presence and delighting the charter passengers, up to 59 at a time. She is a steel hull vessel with a wood superstructure and has a length overall of 115 feet. Over the years we have done many small repairs on board as well as major work including a complete re-decking using Alaskan Yellow Cedar and constructing a new 35’ Douglas Fir bowsprit.
